Health Benefits
Medical Insurance:
Western Construction offers three different health insurance plans designed to fit your budget, as well as your health and wellness needs. The Company pays 50-80% of the premiums depending upon the plan and coverage selections for employees and qualified dependents. Your health and that of your loved ones is important to us!
Dental Insurance:
Our comprehensive dental plan covers many diagnostic and preventive care services at 100% with a low deductible and competitive premiums. Western Construction pays a portion of your premiums and allows you the freedom to choose from the largest network of dentists in South Dakota. We offer family dental coverage as well, ensuring everybody in your family can smile with confidence.
Vision Insurance:
Healthy eyes and clear vision are an important part of your overall health and quality of life. Western Construction pays a portion of your premium, and the coverage extends to employees and their eligible dependents.
Aflac Supplemental Insurance:
Because we all have varying levels of needs when it comes to our health and wellness, we proudly offer Aflac supplemental insurance. Aflac provides voluntary insurance coverage plans such as short-term disability, accident, or critical illness insurance, to meet your needs and your budget, helping you maintain the health and coverage that means the most to you and your family.
Spending Accounts:
Enrolling in our Flexible Spending Program helps make your health and dependent care dollars go further by allowing you to make pre-tax contributions to a personal spending account to use for qualified medical and dependent care expenses.
Financial Security Benefits
Life Insurance Policy:
We all want financial protection for our families and loved ones. We help provide that with a $15,000 employee life insurance policy at no cost to you. Additional coverage is available to you and your eligible dependents to help achieve your desired level of financial protection.
Simple IRA with Employer Match:
We don’t want to work forever, and neither do you. That’s why saving for retirement is such an important goal. We offer a Simple IRA plan which allows your funds to grow tax-deferred or you have the option to enroll in an after-tax Roth IRA. You are immediately vested in your contributions as well as in the discretionary contributions made by Western Construction! We currently match up to 4% of your deferrals into the plan.
529 College Savings Plan:
We know that saving for education can be a challenge! To make it easier, we offer a 529 College Savings Plan. You can set aside funds that grow tax-free and can be used for qualified educational expenses in the future, for you or your relatives.
Winter Savings Program:
We are aware that budgeting for the off-season is a concern for our seasonal employees, and we want to help ensure that you’re set up for success when the season ends. Our Winter Savings Program allows you to set aside money during the construction season, which will then be paid out on a weekly basis during the winter. Western Construction will match 100% of the first $500 you save!
Seasonal Re-Hire Incentives:
Our seasonal employees are eligible for rehire incentives for each season that they return to Western Construction. The incentive grows with consecutive seasons! Our work may be seasonal, but we want our employees to feel secure year-round!
Paid Time Off
Our employees work hard! We want to ensure you can play hard as well! Western Construction has seven paid holidays each year and offers generous paid vacation! All employees are immediately eligible for paid holidays, and full-time employees begin to accrue vacation time immediately upon being hired. Seasonal employees begin to accrue vacation time after working 1,000 hours in a season. Vacation benefits increase with your years of service at Western Construction.
